The Sino-Japan Youth Conference Committee will be recruiting participants for Conference 2011 with the following criteria:

1. Available Positions

20 Chinese participants (10 from mainland China and 10 from Hong Kong)

15 Japanese participants

2. Program Duration

7 days from August 4~August 10, 2011 including arrival and departure

3. Requirements

Chinese (including those from mainland China and Hong Kong), Japanese, and foreigners who possess permanent residence in Japan or mainland China and Hong Kong who will be enrolled in junior high school, senior high school, professional high school, or any equivalent institutions at the time of August 2011 are eligible to apply.

4. Procedure

Applicants should submit the form below to the Committee with the approval of their guardians.

*For those who are in need of financial aid for individual expenses, please inform us separately. Those who demonstrate financial need will be considered for financial assistance.

5. Deadline for Applications (must be postmarked by this date)

For Chinese applications: Tuesday, March 8, 2011

For Hong Kong applications: Friday, April 15, 2011

For Japanese applications:Wednesday, May 11th, 2011 (Friday, April 22, 2011)

6. Selection Process

At least 3 members of the Committee will examine the application form and make an evaluation based on current extracurriculars and the essays. In case of excess applicants, we may conduct telephone interviews. Details will be notified at a later date.

Evaluation results will be sent by postal service and email in late May 2011.

7. Expenses

1) Expenses covered by the Sino-Japan Youth Conference Committee:

The Committee will provide accommodation and various activity fees.

2) Individual Expenses:

  • Food Cost (1000HKD for Japanese and Hong Kong participants, 500HKD for Mainland parcitipants)
  • round trip travel airfare between Hong Kong and your respective homes
  • personal expenses
  • traveler’s insurance fee

8. Dealing of Personal Information

1) Any personal information provided will be used solely for the purpose of the selection process for the Sino-Japan Youth Conference.

2) You have the right to request access to and correction of personal data as stated in this form in accordance with Section 18 and 22 and Principle 6 of Schedule 1 to the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance in Hong Kong.
